Yuasa Battery Sales (UK) Ltd. the UK market leader for Automotive Aftermarket, Industrial and Motorcycle Batteries, has launched a new generation of automotive battery chargers that offer state-of-the-art technology for charging the latest Yuasa batteries including AGM types.
The new Yuasa Smart charger range features five models offering solutions to a broad range of battery-related problems including restoration of stratified and deeply discharged batteries, unique maintenance charging, special modes for charging during cold weather and charging of demanding AGM batteries. The chargers are suitable for use on all kinds of automotive and leisure batteries including cars and motorcycles, all terrain vehicles (ATVs), snowmobiles, ride-on lawnmowers, agricultural, marine and caravan/motorhomes.
Offering state-of-the-art charging, the 12V YCX 5.0 features battery diagnosis that shows if a battery is capable of receiving and retaining charge alongside a special reconditioning function that restores stratified and deeply discharged batteries. With its unique maintenance charging, a mode for cold weather charging and charging of AGM batteries, the versatile YCX 5.0 also features a unique display that allows users to follow the entire fully-automatic eight-step charging process. The IP65 classified splash- and dust-proof YCX 5.0 is suitable for charging batteries from 1.2 to 110Ah and maintenance charging batteries up to 160Ah.The YCX 10 is ideal for professional use in workshops, caravans, RVs, boats or cars. Offering the same features as the YCX 5.0 along with the ability to charge CV batteries, this charger can also be used in power supply mode to allow a battery to be disconnected from a vehicle without losing important configurations. It also features a temperature sensor to optimise charging regardless of weather conditions. Delivering up to 10A, the YCX 10 is suitable for charging 12V batteries from 20 to 200Ah and maintenance charging up to 300Ah.
Offering fully-automatic four-step charging, the YCX 0.8 6V is designed for motorcycle, ATV, agricultural and vintage vehicle applications. It charges and maintains 6V batteries from 1.2 to 100Ah and protects vehicle electronics, is non-sparking, reverse polarity protected and short-circuit proof.
The 12V YCX 0.8 is perfect for charging smaller batteries – 1.2 to 32Ah – that are found in motorcycles, jet-skis, ATVs and lawnmowers. It can also be used for maintenance charging car batteries up to 100Ah. A compact and fully-automatic six-step charger, the YCX 0.8 is non-sparking, reverse polarity protected and short-circuit proof.
Professional battery care is provided by the YCX 25L workshop charger. With its extra long 6 metre cable and wall mounting, the YCX 25L is perfect for garages and is designed to solve different battery related problems, always allowing the battery to be charged while in the vehicle.
Offering maximum versatility, the YCX 25L has functions that examine and show if the battery can be charged and maintain a charge, a special reconditioning function that restores stratified and deeply discharged batteries, maintenance charging and temperature sensor for optimised charging in all weather conditions. The charger also has a feed function allowing the battery to be disconnected from the vehicle without losing important settings.
The YCX 25L is a fully automatic eight-step charger that delivers 25A to 12V batteries from 40 to 500Ah. Classified IP44 for outdoor use, the charger protects vehicle electronics, is spark free, protected from polarity reversal and is short-circuit proof.
As well as the new generation Yuasa Smart chargers, the company also offers a range of accessories including various connectors and an indicator panel to indicate a battery’s charge level.
Yuasa Smart chargers are delivered with a two year warranty for YCX 25L and YCX 10 models and five year warranty for YCX 5.0, YCX 0.8 and YCX 0.8 6V chargers.
