Yuasa and Márquez hunt MotoGP title hat-trick

Yuasa is hunting a third successive MotoGP world championship win as Repsol Honda’s Marc Márquez gears up to defend his crown in the forthcoming season.

The sensational Spaniard, who rides for the Yuasa sponsored Repsol Honda team, has enjoyed incredible success since storming into the sport three years ago. His domination last year saw him become the youngest rider ever to win two successive MotoGP titles, and helped secure a third title in four years for Honda. With the new season about to start Márquez looks in unstoppable form, having topped pre-season testing at Sepang.

Yuasa has a long and successful partnership with Honda and is a major original equipment (OE) supplier to the manufacturer, along with most other major brands. Over 90% of bike manufacturers fit a Yuasa battery at the point of manufacture due to the high quality, reliability and performance offered by the units.

The company’s world famous YTZ battery range is a favourite amongst powersports enthusiasts. As the only motorcycle battery in the world to incorporate expanded plate technology, the YTZ provides riders with maximum starting power from minimum space and weight. The unit’s completely spill proof design also allows multi-angle fitment.

Yuasa’s sponsorship of Repsol Honda is part of the company’s successful motorsport sponsorship programme. James Hylton, Sales and Marketing Manager at Yuasa Battery Sales (UK) Ltd commented: “Our ongoing sponsorship of Repsol Honda is proving to be a resounding success. We are proud to be associated with the team and very excited about Marc’s prospects this season.

“As the world leaders in motorcycle battery design and manufacture, we are always keen to raise and maintain our brand. Our close partnership with Honda and their MotoGP team has helped us to achieve this, and also allowed us to further our ambitious UK and European aftermarket plans.

“Marc’s and the team’s phenomenal success over the last two seasons has far exceeded our expectations. We can’t wait to see what he, and Repsol Honda will achieve in 2015.”

Having already smashed a host of records on the way to his two titles, Márquez is already on his way to becoming one of the greatest MotoGP riders of all time. With every other rider on the grid determined to beat the Repsol Honda star, 2015 looks likely to be another action-packed, adrenaline fuelled season.
