Yuasa’s Team Kasing Close Out Finnish Championship Series Season With Their Highest Result

Jukka Kasi secured his best ranking in the season-ending Lake City Rally in Tampere last weekend. Kasi, who competes in the SM1 class (4wd R5 & S2000 cars) with his Skoda Fabia R5, placed sixth in his class, taking home the seventh position in the overall driver standings in the Finnish Rally Championship series 2017.

This year’s route was versatile and interesting. The Lake City Rally kicked off at nightfall on Friday with the heavy fog making the driving conditions on the first few special stages very challenging. This time the pair was not however slowed down by the series of tyre punctures which had been a nuisance during the summer.

Jukka Kasi explained after the event, “The tests driven prior to this rally were definitely in place and brought the desired systematic touch and certainty to our driving.

All in all, the team is happy with the season. In winter we were still driving with the older Ford Fiesta S2000 car and transitioned to the new Skoda Fabia R5 car for the summer. We have really got to know the car well during the five subsequent rallies and that’s also why it’s good to end the season with a good result.

A big thank you to the team and our partners for this season!”
